Sammy Dog

Committed to unconditional love and complete lack of judgement

OUR RESCUE DOG SAM is a valued member of the team and, while not formally trained as a therapy dog, he brings a loving, calming presence to the therapy room.

It goes without saying that I’ll only let him join us if you like dogs and are not allergic. If neither apply and you’re happy to have him join us, I’ll invite him in.

He’s very smiley and affectionate, and loves tickles – his fur is so soft – but will often just lie down and sleep, which often seems to help clients who are a little anxious, especially in the early days of therapy. It’s been proven that the mere presence of dogs can lower blood pressure and heart rate, which can have a hugely calming effect.

So, if you’re happy for Sam to join us, you’ll be guaranteed three things: a warm, non-judgemental welcome (from both of us); utter confidentiality (from both of us); and leaving with a lot more dog hair on your clothes than you arrived with (that’s Sam, not me)!

We look forward to hearing from you and how we might be able to address the difficulties in life you’re currently facing.
